Residence Soundwalk

Our Sound Walk, with the theme of "From Quiet to Noisy, from Private to public", passes through dormitories, paths, student centers and teaching buildings, presenting a multi-layered experience of campus mobility through the sounds of card swiping, footsteps, wind and conversations with the crowd.

A guided audio tour of every place to eat on campus—told through student voices, ambient sounds, Walk with us and discover your new favorite spots to eat, meet, and belong.

For this sound walk, I will lead the audience to experience several of the most representative places on campus, including the student center, the library, the gymnasium, and so on.

This walk will explore the difference in energy, activity, and how people interact between very high traffic, urban areas on McMaster campus compared to the lower traffic, more natural trails.

Walk from the McMaster Student Center (MUSC) to the Health Sciences Center (HSC) and feel the changes on campus by listening.

This location-aware audio project tells the story of a failed relationship. The listener is taken to various sites that recall the events of the story. For the first assignment of multimedia 3C03. I will introduce Basic sanitary facilities, especially restrooms near the student center of MCMASTER. Sometimes no rest for a restroom because some washrooms only have one toilet. So, for this reason, we should know two or three washrooms in an emergency. If in another situation. My project helps people who are a visitor, and it’s his first time go to the student center of MCMASTER but coincidentally or not he wants to go to the washroom. My project will be useful to him. In my project, I will introduce three washrooms and rated on five points, facilities, cleanliness, smell, size of space, privacy. Users can find the right toilet for them through my introduction. The day of the test washroom assessment guidelines is Saturday, just a few people in the student center

This soundwalk will explore the intersection of race, migration and mobility through the analysis of the South African Apartheid and its effects on the McMaster student community. This soundwalk highlights the ways in which institutions similar to McMaster that are rooted in the creation of inclusive, supportive communities fail to recognize intersectional differences between students and their individualistic needs.
