Welcome to Sounds of the Forest. This immersive audio visual experience will expose you to the diverse sounds and sights of Buderim Forest Park. You'll experience everything this location has to offer from chittering birds to bubbling creeks and raging waterfalls. For the best viewing experience, start at the primary echo located at the beginning of E block. This audio-visual project is best appreciated through headphones, so get set and dive into this relaxing experience.

Welcome to Sounds of the Forest. Before we begin, I would like to pay my respects to the Traditional Owners of the land on which this experience was created and is displayed, The Kakbbi Kabbi people. I pay my respects to the Elders past, present and emerging. I recognise the strength, resilience, and capacity of all Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people. Sounds of Rain

Listen as the rains falls around you; growing in intensity. Hear the rhythm as the droplets bounce off the tress and rocks, crashing into the grass. Listen as it swells around you, whisking you away.

Sounds of Birds

Listen to the rain as the birds sing to you from their distant tree top hideaways. Hear the distinct call of the Eastern Whipbird. Listen to the low drone of the Brown Cuckoo Dove. Hear the rolling song of the Liwen's Honey Eater as it serenades its forest home.

Ambiance of the Forest

Hear the roar of the distant waterfall. Listen as the last of the raindrops crash down from the canopy. Hear the birds sing to you from their distant homes far up above you. Hear the water rush through the creek beds. Listen as the frogs and crickets relish in the rain from their secret homes.

Sounds of the Creek

Listen to the tinkling of the water in the nearby creek; getting louder and fiercer as you draw nearer. Hear the water crash against the rocks as it rushes passed. Listen from just bellow the surface as the water flows by with haste, rippling as it finds obstacles in its path.

Tales of the Past- River of Tears

To connect to the present, try connecting to the past. The falls you can hear are part of a First Nations story. A story that follows three sisters and their grief at finding their husbands bodies after they lost their lives while hunting. They cried and cried until the Gods turned them into the three waterfalls of the valley and their warrior husbands turned themselves into rainbows. Listen as the trickle of tears becomes a raging waterfall.
