dissolutions is a geolocative sound-walk meandering through Oslo, following its mesh of underground sewer systems. The walk reflects on proximity between bodies through (dis)solutions. The walk is created for NyMusikk Periferien 2021. Our bodies are a myriad of things: constituting equal amounts of human cells as various bacteria, and 70% of it is water, which is in constant exchange. Our cells change according to our surroundings. Looking at the quantum world, we might even exist at several places at once. We are not stable. "We are all bodies of water. What we do to water, we do to every body, including ourselves... Everyone both lives in and is a drain." - Astrida Neimanis.

Walking and looking as an imaginative tool to apprehend conditions of change in a liquid world

Selvom elementerne i lydvandringen ikke ændrer sig over udstillingsperioden, er det et værk, der eksisterer, hvor årstid og vejrforhold konstant skaber synlige forandringer. Denne performative sensation inviterer dig til at komme tilbage igen, igen, igen og igen. ~ ・ ~ 'Death is never an ending in nature’ is a non-linear sound walk in the Botanical Garden spread between geo-located areas. The spoken language is Danish but when placing yourself inside the blue areas you can click the dots in the upper right corner and read the translation which you also can find underneath here. ~ Sound is an invisible and fleeting element that can represent the complexity and conditions of the networks that constantly surround us. Ambient sound is part of the imperfection of life, the symbol of distraction from the romantic and dualistic relationships with natural environments. Even though these elements in the soundwalk do not change over the exhibition period, it is a work that exists in an environment that constantly changes naturally within seasonal and weather conditions. The GPS-based audio walk “Sans for finans/Money & Magic” is a guided investigation into the structural nature of the monetary creature. Inviting the audience to "pay attention" to value and money. What is money? How is money created today? Who is in control of the Norwegian Krone? More so, what is the relationship between money and value? The audience is guided by the voice of the curious spirit of Bodil, a soon to be retired anthropologist, a wanderer in the landscape of money and value, a counselor for the love-struck and love-stuck, and a traveler of many dimensions.

God vandring! Vandringen begynner ved Karpedammen, til venstre for plakatbukken, mellom trærene mot Karpedammen, og ender ved kaia foran festningen. Under vandringen blir du guidet av Gyrid. Hun retter blikket ditt i bestemte retninger og deler personlige historier om følelser rundt hjem og minne. Andre stemmer og historier veves også inn. Hun maner fram både omskiftelige og sanselige sider ved byer, lukten av mango, trafikk og kaos, men også parker og stille oaser. I vandringen hører man lydlandskap komponisten har tatt opp fra ulike steder hun stadig vender tilbake til, samt visa «Mitt kjære Oslo» som er komponert for anledningen. She directs your gaze in different directions and supplies a personal narrative about the feeling of home and memory, interspersed with other voices and experiences. Velkommen til Et Rotsystem av Lyd! I regi av Konsertserien Periferien spiller duoen (OoO) fem uannonserte konserter rundt omkring i Oslo. Én etter én blir disse gjort tilgjengelige på Echoes, og kan gjenoppleves om man besøker spillestedet i ettertid. Inspirert av omgivelsene improviseres musikken frem av samples tatt opp på spillestedet. Ei kråke, en bjelle, en trikk, et tog, en rulletrapp, en gravemaskin, et trykkluftbor, en elv, grusen under føttene, en busk med en småfugl i, en el-sparkesykkel, vinden, løvblåseren. Alt blir instrumenter i prosessen til (OoO). (OoO) uttales Objektorientert Ontologi og består av billedkunstnerne Eirik Abri, Jo Mikkel Sjaastad Huse og objektene de spiller på, objekter de spiller ved siden av, over, under, om og etter. De ikke-levende objektene er like viktige som de levende når duoen komponerer musikkstykker. Konsertserien Periferien er en del av NyMusikk og har som mål å fylle et tomrom i Oslos kulturtilbud ved å arrangere konserter med eksperimentell samtidsmusikk. --- Welcome to A Root System of Sound. Initiated by the Konsertserien Periferien, the duo (OoO) will play five unannounced concerts around Oslo. One by one, the recordings will become available through Echoes, and can be relived if you visit the venue afterwards. Inspired by the site's spesific surroundings, the music is improvised with local samples. A crow, a bell, a tram, a train, an escalator, an excavator, a pneumatic drill, a river, the gravel underfoot, a bush with a small bird in it, an electric scooter, the wind, the leaf blower. Everything becomes instruments in the process of (OoO). (OoO) is pronounced Object-Oriented Ontology, and consists of the visual artists Eirik Abri, Jo Mikkel Sjaastad Huse and the objects they play on, objects they play next to, above, below, about and after. The non-living objects are just as important as the living ones when the duo composes pieces of music. Konsertserien Periferien is part of NyMusikk and aims to fill a void in Oslo's cultural offerings by arranging concerts with experimental contemporary music.
