Resonances (II) is an interactive piece of music. As the participant walks around Green Dale Fields, three compositions, based on a triptych of photographic images, are played. The music disrupts and punctures, revealing the city in a new way. Ben’s practice questions the role of listening in relation to the still image. He makes use of reworking and repetition, passing sound and image through a variety of different processes to create his work. For this installation he uses the data from a photographic triptych he made in 2016 to create three sound pieces. The listener is free to move around triggering the sound as and when they like - each experience is, in this sense, unique.
