Resonances (II)

Resonances (II)

Resonances (II) is an interactive piece of music. As the participant walks around Green Dale Fields, three compositions, based on a triptych of photographic images, are played. The music disrupts and punctures, revealing the city in a new way. Ben’s practice questions the role of listening in relation to the still image. He makes use of reworking and repetition, passing sound and image through a variety of different processes to create his work. For this installation he uses the data from a photographic triptych he made in 2016 to create three sound pieces. The listener is free to move around triggering the sound as and when they like - each experience is, in this sense, unique. www.benmcdonnell.co.uk INST: bcjmcdonnell TW: @benmcdonnell

Brockley Corridor Sound Walk

Brockley Corridor Sound Walk

This guided walk from Brockley Station towards Stansted Road in Honor Oak aims to let us listen to what is already happening in the area and imagine how it could sound in the future. The area covers the Brockley Corridor where major improvement works by Lewisham Council are being planned and currently consulted on to alleviate issues around air pollution, traffic and safety. Soundwalk practice exists in many forms, but on this walk we will move in silence for part of the journey and then stop to share reflections. Both the ambient noise and these personal reflections has been recorded.
