Round Our Place is an immersive walk around Partick East and Kelvindale in the West end of Glasgow Scotland.

Round Our Place 2023 is a Sound Walk created by Tricky Hat, in collaboration with groups and individuals who live and work in the North West area of Glasgow.

From November 2023 to August 2023 we worked on this phase of Round Our Place as part of Glasgow Life: Artists in Communities and 2023 UCI Cycling World Championships.

Collected stories of love, challenges and triumphs, favourite places, water and communities standing up for what they believe in.

Reflecting On Tiles

STOCKINGFIELD BRIDGE - Listen to ceramicist and the local artist in residence, Louise Nolan, describe the process of making a tile in honor of her dad, along with the reactions from 5-year-old Lucy and locals June and Cathy to seeing the tiles installed for the first time.

Over 4000 community tiles were made for the ceramic mosaic benches and the central cone of the bridge spire. These were made with local primary schools, care homes, women's centers, youth groups, and other local community hubs.

Wyndford Wild Flowers

Residents from Wyndford, Pam, Sam, and Caz, describe their passion for their community and the fears associated with the proposed demolition of three high-rise flats and their local community center. They also share the proactive steps they have taken by proposing a more environmentally friendly alternative to demolition, and their dreams of a community wildflower meadow they’re currently cultivating.

Love Letter to the Kibble

The council is planning to charge* people to use the Kibble Palace in Glasgow Botanic Gardens. The Kibble Palace is a public space and members of the local community believe it should be free for all to use. As an act of protest against these proposed charges, Keep the Kibble Free campaigners have been meeting at the Kibble Palace every Saturday and Sunday morning since March for a soft occupation of the space. Inviting everyone to join them by sitting in the Kibble reading a book, drawing, meeting a friend for coffee, looking at the plants, enjoy the heat. Bring friends, kids, and your granny. Make use of this warm, dry, beautiful, free space while we still have access to it.

Community Choir

ANNEXE COMMUNITIES - The Annexe Communities Community Choir meets in Stewartville Street Annexe most Wednesdays and is run by Choirmaster Harry Campbell.
