Shorelands

Shorelands

Shorelands by Laura Campbell. Welcome to the Echoes geolocated augmented audio version of Shorelands - a series of 9 text scores created and composed to guide audiences in exploring, listening and performing with the natural sounds and sonic characteristics associated with the Isle of Bute coastline, from Port Bannatyne to Craigmore (Montford Terrace). Starting at Port Bannatyne shelter (opposite The Anchor pub,Isle of Bute PA20 0LL) immerse yourself in the natural soundscapes stopping to listen, respond, improvise and perform at 9 sheltered spots. Time: take as long as you want (Walk, bike, bus, car). Distance: 3.4 miles  Terrain: mostly flat, some uneven grass surfaces and gravel. Please ensure you are in a safe position before listening to each score. Standing and sitting in the seaside shelters is a suggestion. -------------------------- Instructions To listen and interact with the Shorlands walk, we recommend you download Shorelands prior to the walk rather than stream as this may use data and you may be be charged. Choose 'audio quality basic or premium ' option for free, premium is better quality. The walk is triggered by your location and physical movements, your phone will use its GPS to locate where you are and trigger the audio when you are within each blue sound zone along the route. Choose Autoplay by choosing the lines at the top right of the screen and playing each score at each location. Designed to be experienced using headphones. ------------------------------------- Feedback: This project is part of my wider PhD project into how creative and musical interventions can encourage new modes of listening to our environment - I am hoping to to create a new collaborative score composed from shared responses to the soundscape along the Isle of Bute coastline. Please visit linktr.ee/shorelands to offer your feedback and collaborate. Thanks to IBAC, The Anchor Hub, Adam Sloan, Will Plowman.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery And Museum.

Kelvingrove Art Gallery And Museum.

This edifice is a cultural landmark in Glasgow. Located in the heart of Glasgow’s West End, Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum is one of Scotland’s most beloved and iconic institutions. Opened in 1901, the museum is housed in a stunning red sandstone building designed in the Spanish Baroque style, with grand spires and an imposing façade that mirrors the city’s industrial-era confidence and architectural grandeur. Stunning architecture and a historic, family-friendly space. Beautiful! Wonderful!
