The University of Washington campus has been walked by many people through many years. Crumbling buildings stand beside those with paint still drying,  and who knows how many footprints hide underneath the layers of soil and concrete. This walk will take you through time to explore a story of love and loss that lies just below the veil of our world. Begin on the Northeastern-most end of the quad -- between the art and music buildings -- and walk through the quad towards Red Square. For the fullest experience, this walk should be done during Suzzallo Library hours.

Ira: Did you hear about this? Prof. Jones, that professor I had for ethics last quarter who said I had potential, he quit yesterday because of the wage cuts. This school is falling Theo.

Ira: You got a new dress! It looks so nice on you!

Theo: Have you done the reading for that class?

Theo: Here, you can share my umbrella, I don’t want you to get sick

Ira: Hello again! Did you end up finding the books you needed?

Ira: Aren’t you cold without a jacket? Here, have mine.

Theo: Are you busy this weekend? … Do you want to go see Midsummer Night’s Dream with me? And maybe have dinner afterward?

Theo: I have an audition coming up I’m so nervous, will you help me practice?

Ira: Congratulations for getting cast! I’m so excited to see you act again!

Ira: Did you hear they might be increasing tuition?

Theo: Listen to what Prof wilson said to us the other day “young women have earned membership in this underclass scholastic honorary through [their] docile attitude and diligence in doing what [they] are told on assignments.” Do you think I’m docile?

[1.12] Theo: I want to hear about your family! What’s it like out on the peninsula? I’ve never been! Is it beautiful?

Ira: Will you tell me about California? Can you swim in the water? I’ve heard its warm!

Old Edward Greig! His music is pretty good actually, for an old man. Theo introduced me.

Theo: Ira, Iraaaa. Ira Do you know what this plant is?

Hi! Where are you off to?
Ira: Suzzulo! I’m working in the reading room today!

Theo: Come sit in the sunshine with me! The books will wait for you, I promise!

Ira: I hear there’s a new show opening at the Neptune tonight. Do you want to come with me?

Theo: Are you sure you don’t have time for a walk tonight? It’s so beautiful out, Ira. Come on, just for a few minutes after dinner?

Ira: Look! The Daily wrote an article about Camille, sorry, I mean, La Dame Au Camélia! “Theodora was something special. Camille’s tragedy of the heart was displayed with tenderness and compassion.”

Theo: The campus feels so empty, where did everybody go?
