In this soundscape, I explore how depth sounds. Using speech to initiate rhythm, a beat builds as you defend the Earth and become closer to buried history. The music is an homage to the Second Summer Of Love and the emergence of several music genres in the UK in the 90s like acid house and jungle. While the tube is not a popular location for a rave, many Londoners choose to liven their commute listen to music of their choice so, in this way, it is a popular place to enjoy music.

Prompted by the veneration of St Pancras as the patron saint of health and St Pancras Old Church as the site of a lost healing well, this is the sound of a pilgrimage across four holy wells of London. Starting at St Giles - the patron saint of disabilities - church in Cripplegate, winding through Clerks Well in Farringdon and Powis Well behind Great Ormond Street Hospital, the serendipitous field recordings conclude at the Old Church.

This sound encapsulates a brightened quiet morning at St Pancras graveyard. When I first moved to London, I discovered the St Pancras graveyard while looking for a quiet place to read. It has since become a place of refuge and quiet for me when the industrial noise of the city becomes too much.

Through our research, we found that the development of King’s Cross is a product of urban capital expansion. Old buildings, historical relics, and community spaces have been gradually overlaid, with new developments systematically replacing past urban forms—until expansion reaches its limit. This process is much like the mechanics of the game Snake—a continuous cycle of devouring, occupying more and more space, until it inevitably crashes into a wall or collapses upon itself.

Laced with South Side Chicago house music and live Jazz in Peckham –– geographic parallels calinig and responding from opposite sides of the ocean. A recognition in knowing that basslines know no borders, only rhythm, only spirit, only love. I’m called to the sounds and figures that are constant reminders of both home and elsewhere. The bassline is my center.

Whenever I walk from the tube to the CSM campus, I always put on my noise-canceling headphones.

The idea of silencing external noise to isolate a chosen sound is ridiculous. In sound mixing, the way mixing bar works feels quite similar to the logic behind noise-canceling technology. To highlight certain sounds, everything else must be pushed below zero.
The focus, then, is on the sounds that disappear. What sound targeted as "disturbance" and buried beneath the mix? Must reverse it!

A replica of the audio hallucinations that I have and I wanted to share this with the wider world to enlighten people that don't suffer with mental health that people suffer in silence from such conditions and it has a huge impact on our daily living.

Yet there are many well known artists who suffer with mental health and they function as a creative and a part of society.

The recording picks up the thump of the escalator, mechanics of the main heartbeat running through King’s Cross.

There’s something really physical about it, the way the sound makes you feel the familiar movement, the weight of people passing through, rhythm and disruption.

The sound is rhythmic almost grounding, but then there are these sudden interruptions - the crash of a suitcase, footsteps hitting the metal at the top. It’s like nerves firing, little shocks breaking the flow.

King’s Cross Station is a hub of international travelers, where people are constantly coming and going. The piano offers a moment to pause and observe. By playing a melody with my left hand, I invite passersby to join me in a two-minute improvisation. For a brief moment, we slow down, connect with strangers, and it feels like dancing in the station.

My sound thinks about the area as a hub for coming in and leaving to other places in Europe.
Through combining different sounds I recorded in the St. Pancras international station: from announcements for trains leaving to Paris or Brussles, a piano player in the arrivals area, or just the hussle and bustle of the station- I tried to convene the feeling on travel, being halfway in London and halfway to somewhere else. im inviting the listener to stop and mediate on the the endless possibilities this wormhole that the train station serves as can bring.
